One of the most esteemed educational institutions in the State of Maharashtra is the Maratha Vidya Prasarak (M.V.P.) Samaj. It has endured for more than 109 years, growing into an unmatched tale of great renown. History states that a group of youthful, passionate, and committed social workers and educators who were motivated by the lives of Rajashri Shahu Maharaj of Kolhapur, Savitribai Phule, and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule are to be credited with founding M.V.P. Samaj. The M.V.P. Samaj was founded by these young rising stars, who also included Karmaveer Raosaheb Thorat, Bhausaheb Hire, Kakasaheb Wagh, Annasaheb Murkute, Ganpat Dada More, D. R. Bhonsale, Kirtiwanrao Nimbalkar and Vithoba Patil Khandalaskar. These were the men who envisioned an information- and culture-focused society.
