About the Department

The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest and biggest departments of Arts, Science and Commerce College, Ozar (Mig) established in 1984 under the principalship of Mr. V. M. Patil. The foundation stone of the present building was laid in 1926, and since then we are running undergraduate, and now three years ago we introduced postgraduate course in specializations of analytical chemistry. Now from current academic year 2024-25, the department introduced B.Sc. -NEP2020 (Hons/Research) in Chemistry. The chemistry department has a rich tradition of imparting high-quality teaching and research in cutting-
edge thrust areas of chemical science, providing intensive research training to students. The students have access to a central library where a large collection of international and national reputed reference and textbooks are housed. Besides this, the department has a state-of-art instrumentation facility and laboratory infrastructure for conducting quality laboratory work. The department of chemistry organized workshops, symposia, and state-national level conferences on thrust areas of chemical sciences. Currently nine faculties are working in the department out of those three faculties are having PhD and remaining are perusing their doctorate. During the last 5 years, the department has produced 150 graduates, 60 postgraduates and published number of research papers in reputed reviewed national- international journals during 2019-2024 by the faculties.
