The OBC (Other Backward Classes) Cell

The OBC (Other Backward Classes) Cell of College aims to promote the welfare and empowerment of students belonging to the OBC community. The cell acts as a forum for addressing the issues and grievances of OBC students and provides a platform for their overall development.

Our college has always ensured that the weaker sections students do not get left behind in the learning as well as overall academic development process. Teachers pay more attention to their special needs and provide them more encouragement and support by various strategies for the enhancement of these students.

The primary objectives of the OBC cell are as follows:

  • To create awareness among the OBC students about various scholarship schemes and other facilities provided by the government.
  • To assist the OBC students in availing scholarships and other financial assistance provided by the government.
  • To organize seminars, workshops, and training programs for the OBC students to enhance their knowledge, skills, and employability.
  • To provide guidance and counselling to the OBC students to overcome social, academic, and personal problems.
  • To conduct various cultural and social events to promote the rich culture and heritage of the OBC community.
  • It is responsible for ensuring that students from – communities feel safe and secure on campus, and that their rights and interests are protected. The cell aims to foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity on campus, and to promote interfaith harmony and understanding.

Functions of the Committee

  • To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring about social inclusion.
  • To create a socially congenial atmosphere for academic interaction and for the growth of healthy interpersonal relationships among the students coming from various social backgrounds.
  • To help individuals or a group of students belonging to the disadvantaged section of the society to contain the problems related to discrimination.
